One question we are often asked is “what do you add to your product to enhance the omegas/amino acids?
The simple answer is nothing!
Hemp seed naturally contains all of these important elements, in fact hemp seed is a complete food – meaning that you could survive on it alone. It provides dietary fibre, essential and non-essential amino acids and omegas 3, 6 and 9 in the perfect ratio for mammal health!
Our processing is only carried out mechanically so there is very little heat (some of course is generated in the pressing) and certainly no solvents giving us the confidence that this surely is a superfood.
More than this, while the growing of hemp seed requires no pesticides or herbicides in order to give us even more confidence, we test for around 300 pesticides/herbicides, glyphosate, heavy metals, mycotoxins, microbiology and peroxide levels. Any anomalies and the complete batch is rejected.
Even during cleaning and drying of the seed our mission is to treat the seed with great respect, very little heat is used and we are as gentle as we can be when moving seed from one process to another.
The other consideration is of course packaging. Our packaging is kept as simple as possible, glass for the oil and foil lined pouches for all the powders. No aluminium or plastic leaching into our products!
Just like our pricing structures, our food contains no hidden extras.
