Hulled Hemp Seeds are naturally produced from UK grown hemp seed, processed at our award-winning factory here in Wiltshire.  Once the shells are removed hulled hemp seeds are a white/green colour with a mild nutty taste.

Application

Hulled Hemp Seeds can be used in applications that are traditionally served by almonds, sesame seeds, sunflower seed, pine nuts, and flax.  Many food manufacturers are now using the hemp seed as an ingredient in their products.  It is also used instead of breadcrumbs to make a topping on both sweet and savoury products.

Hulled Hemp Seed is a complete food containing proteins, all 20 amino acids (including 9 essentials) and vital essential fatty acids omegas 3, 6 and 9 along with a multitude of minerals and vitamins.  It is carefully dehulled from UK grown hemp seed in our award-winning factory here in Warminster and has a mild nutty taste.

• PROTEINS:  Hulled Hemp Seed naturally contains all 20 amino acids along with the easily digestible proteins edestin (65%) and albumin (35%) both of which are critical to ongoing health.   About 65% of the proteins contained in hemp protein consist of the easily digestible protein edestin, a so-called storage protein (contains amino acids).  The remaining 35% is albumin, a high-quality protein whose structure is similar to that of the protein in a chicken egg.  About 50% of the protein content in blood plasma consists of albumin. It is also considered a transport protein for magnesium and calcium, for example.   Both albumin and edestin are globular proteins ie soluble in water, acids and bases.
