At UK Hemp we have a 100% success rate with over 40 licenses achieved for ourselves and our growers since 2018.

Industrial Hemp cannot be cultivated in the UK without a license granted by the Home Office. 
This process can be complex as there are a lot of moving parts.

Part one:  Licensees must have completed a DBS application before a license application can be processed.

Part two:  Once the individual is deemed to be suitable for an industrial hemp license through the DBS process the focus moves to the location which has a set of criteria including:  proximity to major roads, proximity to high density housing, proximity to footpaths etc.

Part three:  Type of cultivation, type of product and end user details.

Part four:  Type of cultivation seed and supplier.

Part five:  Harvesting techniques and dealing with the controlled part of the plant – flowers, leaves and roots.

The window for license applications opens on January the first and closes on March 31st.

We recommend that license applications are fully prepared and submitted on the 1st January as the Home Office are usually inundated with applications.
